Crib Time

Mia moved into her crib today and seemed quite comfortable in her new surroundings. She's till tolerating her full feedings, now up to 45 cc's, though she still has a hard time with the bottle.

Nurse Katie said most probably Mia will be able to come home next week. However, since she is still not taking a bottle every feeding, she will need a Gastrostomy Tube (G-Tube). The G-Tube can deliver formula directly to the stomach if she's not drinking from the bottle.

Obviously we'd love to avoid this, but Mia's made it quite clear she's going to do things her way. It's just thrilling thinking about her coming home at last.

HURRAY!!!!We will pray that she can tolerate the food and doesn't have to come home with the tube, but if she does I'm sure you won't mind as long as she is home. Love you all. Aunt Theresa & Uncle Mickey

Noah and Francesca-We more than anyone can understand what you're going through-the little triumphs as well as the little setbacks. Noah, what you said is so true, every child is a gift from God. No one knows why we were give the gift of a special child. We can sympathize with everything you're going through because we went through it too. We are still going through it. Just know that we love you so much and your strength and love will get Mia through anything. There is nothing better than seeing Christian's face when he hugs us-how much he knows he is loved. That is the most important thing you can give Mia and I think it helped him get through alot of stuff and it will help her as well. If ever you need a shoulder to cry on or just to talk to someone who's been through this-we're here. I am thinking of coming to see her this Saturday with my mother-would love to see her and both of you. We love you so much. Martha & Joe
