Boston Day 4

Not much more to really report yet. Still waiting for test results. Mia's condition is unique, as the doctors here say they have never seen anything like it. They are sure it is a metabolic disorder, but the way that it presents itself is new to them.

Even if they are able treat the metabolic disorder, there is still no way to tell how Mia's brain will function since one effect of her high lactic acid levels was the malformation of parts of her brain. We take comfort in the fact that Mia acts like you would expect a baby to act. She cries when she's hungry, she doesn't like a poopy diaper or needles stuck in her ankle. When she's in your arms she is truly at peace. She is just so beautiful. All we can do is keep praying for a miracle.

Hey Noah and Fran,
When you get to know your way around Children's, find Marnie Salkovitz. She's an RN working in the Jimmy V ward but she will be a friendly face and she's Josh's sister. She knows me. Do some name dropping. Much love to Mia and Happy Easter.

Mia is in your life for a special reason and God knows the answer. We continue to pray for a miracle and for God to give you and Francesca the strength that you need during this difficult and unstabling time. We love you. May the Easter mystery of Christ's resurrection bring you peace. Uncle Mickey & Aunt Theresa

Dear Noah and Francesca - I am struck by Mia's peaceful demeanor. She does not appear to be in any distress, which is a blessing. Please take care of yourselves and have a happy and serene Easter.

I'm thinking of you both. Francesca, you helped me so much when I was at that wedding with you. I'll never forget that. Please stay strong, both of you, and Mia & You's are in my prayers!
