5 Weeks
Mia continues to put on a bit of weight and is still taking her bottle. The bottle feedings have been a little touch and go. Mia's got the suck and swallow part down pretty good, it's the breathing at the same time part that's tripping her up. Not the end of the world, it's something she'll get down eventually, but it's enough to make us and the NICU staff feel she's not ready to come home just yet. As soon as she gets the breathing part of the eating equation down solid, she'll be ready to leave the NICU.
She's maintaining her weight and adding a bit (as evidenced by her growing double chin), maintaining her body temp, and spending more and more time awake.

These photos are the BEST!! and so is Mia and her 1 inch punch-that's so funny...and I love her checking out the rest of the room-especially looking over her head at whoever was speaking to you as she washed her hands...you sure have a hot ticket on your hands-God Bless-and I love you three so much! I love the way she is looking at the camera from safe in her Daddy's arms, and then Mommy talking to her in the video and the way she follows your voice-I could look at her all day and all night!!

Mia is SO beautiful! I love that punch, whoa. . .I don't think you'll have to worry about schoolyard bullies! Can't wait to meet her in person. Hope to see all three of you soon.
All my good thoughts and prayers are going with you to Boston! Please keep us posted. She is so beautiful.
